Babay ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Babay website at babay.ai and the Babay mobile application (together, the "Service").

Information We Collect

Information you provide to us:

• Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you sign in with Google, Facebook, or Apple, we receive your name and email (and, where provided, a profile picture) from those services.
• Child & Development Information: If you choose to provide it, information about your child such as their name, birth date, due date, and sex, and the data you log in myBabay: milestones, growth measurements (height, weight, head circumference), vaccine records, feeding/sleep/diaper care logs, foods and allergens introduced, and "firsts."
• Photos: Photos you attach to your child's memories. You may add these from your photo library or by taking a photo with your camera. We access your camera or photo library only when you choose to add a photo.
• Camera & Microphone (BabayCam): If you use BabayCam to turn a device into a baby monitor, the app accesses that device's camera and microphone to send a live view and to estimate sound level for cry detection. These camera frames are transmitted to deliver the live view to the viewing links you create and are stored only transiently to provide the feature; they are deleted when the session ends.
• Questions and Interactions: The parenting questions you ask and your interactions with our service, including answers you save.

Information collected automatically:

• Usage Data: Information about how you use the Service, including features used, questions asked, and time spent.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system, app version, and device identifiers, including push notification tokens if you enable notifications.
• Purchase Data: When you subscribe through the app, we and our payment partners (Apple and RevenueCat) receive your subscription and entitlement status (for example, plan type, trial status, and renewal/expiration). We do not receive your full credit card number; Apple processes in-app payments.
• Location Data: General location based on IP address (city/region level only). We do not collect precise GPS location.

Camera, Microphone, and Photo Permissions

The app requests access to your camera, microphone, and photo library only for the features described above (BabayCam and attaching photos to memories). You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time in your device Settings. Denying a permission disables only the feature that needs it; the rest of the Service continues to work.

App Tracking Transparency

On iOS, certain sign-in flows (such as Facebook) may ask for permission to track using Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. We do not use your data to track you across other companies' apps and websites for advertising, and Babay shows no third-party ads. If you decline tracking, sign-in still works using a privacy-preserving method.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and personalize our parenting guidance and child-tracking tools
• To tailor information to your child's age and developmental stage
• To save your questions, logs, photos, and preferences
• To operate BabayCam and deliver live views to links you choose to share
• To manage subscriptions, free trials, and access to premium features
• To send notifications you have enabled
• To improve our service and develop new features
• To communicate with you about your account or our services
• To ensure the security and integrity of our platform

Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

• Service Providers: With trusted third parties who help us operate the Service — for example, hosting, AI processing of your questions (such as OpenAI), subscription management (Apple, RevenueCat), and analytics — bound by confidentiality obligations and permitted to use the data only to provide services to us.
• People You Share With: When you create a BabayCam viewing link, anyone who has that link can view the live feed until you stop the session or the link expires. You control who receives these links.
• Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights and safety.
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Third-Party Sign-In Services

When you choose to sign in with Google, Facebook, or Apple:

• We receive basic profile information (name and email; a profile picture where provided) from these services.
• We do not have access to your passwords for these services.
• We do not post to your social media accounts.
• Sign in with Apple may provide a private relay email address if you choose to hide your email; we use it only to operate your account.
• Your use of these sign-in services is also subject to Google's, Facebook's, and Apple's respective privacy policies.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

• Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
• Secure storage of passwords using industry-standard hashing
• Private, unguessable links for shared photos and camera sessions
• Regular security assessments and updates
• Limited access to personal data

Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data
• Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and data, or delete your account in-app from the Account page (see our Data Deletion page)
• Opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing communications and turn off push notifications

Children's Privacy

Babay is designed for parents and caregivers, not for use by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The child information you provide is about your child, entered by you as the parent or guardian, stored securely, and used only to personalize your parenting and tracking experience.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. BabayCam camera frames are retained only transiently to deliver the live view and are deleted when a session ends. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. Some information may be retained for legal or legitimate business purposes.

Cookies and Tracking

On our website we use cookies and similar technologies to:
